Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) is an effective treatment for CFS. CBT techniques have been used effectively by a variety of specially trained practitioners to help people manage their fatigue and overcome upon your life that result from it. By getting to know your own experience of CFS, you can set realistic, appropriate and measurable targets for yourself, and learn to manage your illness.

Change is also possible for you if you are living with chronic pain. Effective pain management requires a practical, multi-disciplinary approach involving medication, a healthy lifestyle and a positive mindset. Important skills include goal-setting, making action plans and rewarding yourself; pacing your day-to-day activities and building in time for relaxation practice; developing healthy exercise and eating routines; improving your sleep hygiene; and finding strategies for coping with setbacks.
